Prior to recruiting new potential members, the group’s structure
should be decided and a new member recruitment document should be developed to enable a
crisp and compelling “ask”. Keep in mind that from experience:
1. The majority of recruitment is still being done through personal networks and word of mouth
2. Encourage your current members to bring at least 2 guests per year to a meeting
3. Technology like LinkedIn, websites, and twitter can expand the organization’s reach
4. Participate in local entrepreneurship events
5. Network with local service provides: accountants, lawyers, wealth managers as they are also relevant for recruitment of new members.
