Hello,
I’m interested in identifying best practices related to the recruitment of new members to angel investing. Any suggestion to target specific groups? Any way to invite them to our network to showcase our capabilities? Some other ideas?

Recruiting members is a fundamental activity for any angel network, new or already active since years. Some practical advice can be:
Prior to recruiting new potential members, the group’s structure
should be decided and a new member recruitment document should be developed to enable a
crisp and compelling “ask”. Keep in mind that from experience:
1. The majority of recruitment is still being done through personal networks and word of mouth
2. Encourage your current members to bring at least 2 guests per year to a meeting
3. Technology like LinkedIn, websites, and twitter can expand the organization’s reach
4. Participate in local entrepreneurship events
5. Network with local service provides: accountants, lawyers, wealth managers as they are also relevant for recruitment of new members.Hope this help and let us know if you have any further questions!
